Bathbrite Uses the Most Up To Date Materials And Techniques

We like our customers to understand what we do, how we do it and why Bathbrite is your best choice to craft a new look for your kitchen or bath.

ALL RESURFACING COMPANIES USE THE SAME KIND OF MATERIAL SO ISN’T IT A MATTER OF WHO HAS THE BEST PRICE?
No. Types of material vary widely. Our Duraglass coating is unique to Bathbrite.

SOME OTHER COMPANIES CLAIM TO PUT MANY COATS ON A TUB. IS THIS GOOD?
Many resurfacers claim to apply many coats of paint in their process. In some cases, cheaper paints need many coats just to achieve an acceptable finish. However, most paints (including our coating) are chemically engineered and designed to be applied to within a designed thickness (# of coats). Far less or far more coats can actually cause the material to be weaker than designed and thus never reach the intended hardness and possibly failing much sooner. The old saying that “more is better” is not actually true in this case. But it makes for a great advertising claim!

MY TUB HAS ALREADY BEEN REFINISHED AND IS PEELING; CAN IT STILL BE REFINISHED?
Yes. First we must strip off the painted surface back down to the original tub surface. Then the tub can be refinished again.

MY TILE HAS BEEN REFINISHED AND IS PEELING; CAN IT BE REFINISHED?
Yes. We start by removing the old material (paint), re-prepping the surface and refinishing again.

MY TUB IS DULL, STAINED AND VERY HARD TO CLEAN. IS IT IN NEED OF REFINISHING?
Probably so. As the surface becomes more porous, these symptoms begin to become real issues. Refinishing is your quickest and least expensive solution to the problem.

CAN I USE A SUCTION CUP SAFETY MAT IN MY TUB AFTER IT IS RESURFACED?
No! This may damage the finish we apply and void your warranty. Even the manufacturer of new tubs will not warranty the tub if using a suction cup mat. We can suggest other ways to slip proof your tub.

ARE YOU PUTTING REAL PORCELAIN ON MY TUB?
No. No one can apply real porcelain to your tub surface. If someone claims to do this, call someone else. Porcelain is a glass/ceramic mixture applied in the factory and fired in big ovens at over 1800 degrees. Some claim to use synthetic porcelain which is still just paint.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Every tub is different, but the average tub takes between 3-4 hrs. Previously refinished tubs may take as long as 5-6 hrs. to strip and refinish. But remember, you can use your tub 10 hrs. later and with only 1 visit to your home!

I WANT TO CHANGE THE COLOR OF MY TUB AND TILE. CAN REFINISHING DO THAT?
Yes. We have the ability to change color to just about any color you like. Standard colors are gloss white, linen white and beige/almond. Mail us a color sample and we can match it. (Other colors at slightly higher price)

WHAT KIND OF WARRANTY DO YOU OFFER?
Our coating material has a 5 yr. warranty with labor/application having a 1 yr. warranty. All warranty information is in writing on the back of our invoice.

HOW LONG DOES REFINISHING USUALLY LAST?
Our Duraglass coating could provide 15-20 yrs. of service depending on how the surface is cared for.

CAN FORMICA COUNTER TOPS BE REFINISHED?
Yes! We offer solid color, multi-spec (solid color w/contrasting specs added) and Multi-Stone finishes.

DOES REFINISHING CERAMIC TILE STOP THE MILDEW?
Yes. Our one piece seamless coating covers the tile and grout, thus cleaning becomes much easier and virtually eliminates constant grout problems.

HOW IS BATHBRITE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER REFINISHING COMPANIES?
Most of our competitors use spray paint, enamel paint, car paints, aircraft paint, boat paint and even epoxies for refinishing. Some paints can dull, chip, stain, fade and even yellow rather easily. In contrast, our Duraglass Coating material was chemically formulated to withstand the regular use of any surface.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE TO RESURFACE A BATHTUB? WHY DON’T YOU PUBLISH PRICES ON YOUR WEBSITE?
We do have standardized pricing for the resurfacing of bathtubs as well as other things. However, we need to know a little more about your particular tub or surface in order to give you exact pricing. Also, we may have specials running or other discounts that could be in effect. Call our office and we will be glad to assist you.

DO YOU LEAVE THE PROTECTIVE PAPER AROUND THE TUB AND FLOOR AREAS FOR US TO REMOVE AND DO WE HAVE TO RECAULK THE TUB OURSELF?
No! Unlike many other companies, we remove all the paper and covers and recaulk your tub (at no charge) before leaving your home.

DO YOU HAVE TO RETURN THE SECOND DAY TO BUFF OR POLISH THE TUB SURFACE LIKE SOME OTHERS DO?
No. Our system is not a paint and does not require buffing or polishing. We save our customers time and inconvenience by being able to complete the job in 1 visit.

I'VE SEEN THE TERMS REFINISHING, RESURFACING, RE-GLAZING and RESTORATION USED. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
All these terms mean the same thing and are often used interchangeably. These terms simply mean applying a new surface or finish over the old existing surface to provide a new or different look.
